India, whose mineral settings are similar
to the well-endowed Archaean and Proterozoic
provinces of Australia, Canada, and Africa, has
never fully reached or exploited its full geological
potential.
There are numerous, documented mineral
occurrences that remain largely unexplored
by modern and innovative exploration technologies
currently in worldwide use.
Numerous old gold
workings documented in literature have been
explored more recently by the GSI. These areas
and other exploration opportunities require systematic
follow up exploration.
The
continent resembles Australia and Canada in
the 1970s and Africa in the 1980s.? It offers
enormous opportunities for new discoveries of
world-class gold, copper-gold, lead-zinc, nickel/platinum,
iron ore and diamond deposits.
